CREATION STUDIOS
Jim Woodyard is our house producer and recording engineer. Jimʼs recording career began as a member of the group Revelation and the release of Another Day on London Records. His guitar playing caught the ear of producer Bob Brooks, future owner of the legendary Vancouver studio, Little Mountain Sound. Bob subsequently hired Jim for many of his productions and other producers soon followed suit. In his early career Jim released 2 albums as a solo artist and toured across the country, including a 6 week North American tour opening for Roy Orbison. His songs have been recorded by many artists, including Juno award winner Valdy. With a young family and the demands of touring, Jim shifted his main career focus to music production and work as a session musician. Based in Vancouver, Jim has also worked in Edmonton, Los Angeles, Moscow and Nashville. He has produced music for scores of artists and performed on hundreds of CDs. His television credits include Arctic Air, Bordertown and MacGyver. He has performed vocals or instruments on international jingles for Mazda, Nissan and Kelloggʼs, just to name a few. Jim also played on, and recorded all the live music for the Simpsons million selling video game “Hit and Run”. Recording at Little Mountain Sound and Mushroom Studios gave Jim the opportunity to work with some of the best engineers in the business. He is very grateful to have worked alongside Pat Glover, Rolf Hennemann, Bob Rock and Dave Slagter, from whom he gained a wealth of experience and knowledge. In 1993 Jim became managing director and house producer at Creation Studios in Vancouver B.C. In 1997 Jim added recording engineer to his music production services.
